Happy Birthday!!

Happy Birthday Keith!!

Keith has to work today, on his birthday so we had planned to do his birthday with the kids Sunday night, BUT we had bought him an ice cream cake Saturday afternoon and Thomas was SO excited to show Keith his cake when he got home from work Saturday he got it out of the freezer by himself and completely destroyed the box in the process so we did his birthday Saturday night!

Keith got an ice cream cake & german choc cupcakes
Nathan waiting patiently for Keith to open his presents
I had bought Keith everything he wanted for his birthday then took the boys to the dollar store and told them they could buy daddy whatever they wanted.  It was really funny to see what they picked for him!  Nathan picked him a 2 liter of pepsi, Thomas picked a sheet of stickers, and David picked him a box of his favorite candy.
Nathan totally excited about the pepsi & trying to get a drink before it was open
Tommy showing him the stickers & trying to tell Keith that now they can be "sticker boys" together.  Sticker boys is when you stick stickers all over your arms, legs & face :)

We had to light the candle several times so that everyone could have enough turns blowing out the candle.
And of course, what kind of party would it be if there wasn't some wrestling involved!!
He & I celebrated his birthday yesterday. We got a babysitter and got a pedicure, then saw Men in Black 3, and then went to dinner at Texas de Brazil.

Camping & Sports

This last weekend was our Father/Son campout.  Keith was able to take the weekend off to take the boys camping.  I was able to convince Keith to take Nathan camping with him, even though he is still in diapers.  It has always been our "rule" that you get to go to father/sons once you are no longer in diapers.  I really needed the break & am glad Nathan was able to go.  All four boys had a great time!

Nathan hanging out in his chair
Tommy (mid-air), a friends boy & Nathan bouncing on the air mattress in the tent
Nathan chugging a coke
Thomas hanging out in the tent
Nathan riding on the power wheels jeep
Thomas & Nathan at the bounce house
There are no pictures of David because he was off with his friends the whole time doing whatever pre-teen boys do & playing football, but he was there too & had a lot of fun!

When they got home we went straight to David's baseball game where he hit a 3 run homerun which made the difference in the win for his team & he played catcher the entire game.  Then we headed to David's final 2 football games of the season.  He played quarterback & got a bunch of high fives from the coach so I guess he did good!  (I am not a very good football mom!! I just don't get it!!)

Papa came over the other day to help fix an outlet & we took advantage of his truck and had him bring home a pool to play in this summer!  The little boys LOVE it & get in every chance they can, yes even fully dressed :)  It has a slide on it and Nathan calls the pool "papa's weeee" cause slides are weeee's to him & papa brought it over.

graduation

Thomas had his preschool graduation today.  We have been talking about graduation for the last week or so,  Tommy woke up this morning and asked if it was graduation day I said yes, and he told me he didn't want to go to graduation he just wanted to stay home and ride his bike! We had been planning to have a "party" at McDonalds tonight to celebrate his graduation, so when I reminded him about that he willingly was ready for graduation!

Thomas was in the second row, he is under the yellow arrow.

There's one in every crowd.... Tommy is again under the yellow arrow, he spent the majority of graduation sitting facing backwards, occasionally he would sway to the song that was being sung or do a few motions, but he preferred to either check out whatever was so interesting behind him or playing with the boy next to him's tassel.

again, backwards not doing the song!

The video is of him walking up to receive his diploma

Thomas & Nathan after graduation

Tommy looked at his diploma and got upset because
1-they got his number wrong!! (2012 he wanted it to be 212...our house number)
and
2- they spelled his name wrong!! Thomas is spelled T-O-H-M-M-A-S  not T-H-O-M-A-S
(according to Tommy---he spells his name the way it sounds out if you are wondering how the heck he decided to spell his name that way tom-mas)

Good job in preschool Tommy!!  We love you and are excited for kindergarten!

All-Stars 2012

Today was the mid-season All-Star game for little league!  David was selected to be one of the players!!

David, Harrison, Scott (cousin) & Lino were the boys selected from the Giants for the All-Star game.  David had a great time playing, he got to play catcher & in the field in today's game.
(David batting)

Nathan LOVES to watch "Dabid pay ball"  He likes to stand at the fence and watch. The entire half of the inning that David is catching & when he is hitting or on base you can find Nathan pressed up against the fence yelling at his Dabid.

It was a great afternoon for baseball! The boys had a great & memorable time.

hair

Today was the day! It was FINALLY our appointment day for the boys to get their haircut!
Here are before & after shots of each of the boys...

David did his regular haircut
Tommy got the same haircut he got last time, the little spikes, but he likes no spikes because when he has spikes and has to scratch his head it hurts his fingers!
and my baby Nay-Nay... I think I have shed a few tears this week knowing that today was the day for haircuts.  I LOVE Nathan's long blonde hair. But with his recent 2 year old attitude/independence he refuses to let me brush his hair & with how long it is, it is just all knotty/nesty looking.  I had to have Nathan go first today for haircuts before I wussed out and decided just to do a trim on him.  I was afraid he'd lose the blonde in his hair if I went short, and also that it would make him look older (I'm not ready for him to grow up yet)  But, throughout the day, his haircut is growing on me and I really like it! It is way more manageable for a very active little boy.
& yeah, part of why we did haircuts not only did they need them, but they are getting their pictures done next week!

almost

Last night after Tommy's baseball practice we went to McDonald's to run off any left over energy, then came home took baths/shower, got jammies on & went to bed about 9pm.  David was in his room asleep & the little boys were in their room.  They were all quiet so I figured they were all asleep and I laid down in bed about 10:30.  As I was laying there getting comfortable I smelled something burning. At first I figured it was the neighbor's fire pit, then realized that I had the windows shut since the a/c is on. As I laid there thinking what was running (washer/dryer, dishwasher) and realized nothing was on I jumped out of bed and down the hall first checking the kitchen and finding nothing, nothing in the living room or the boys bathroom. David's door was open so that was easy to check, which only left the little boys room.  I feel like it took me 10 minutes to get their door open, (the latch on their door was broke so it takes a few tries and holding your breath & tongue just right to get that door open) but once I got in there I could smell the smoke/burning SO strongly.  Tommy says "mom smell that?" I said yes Thomas, as I am trying to get the light on & figure out what is going on, and Nathan is saying "nighty night all done".  These little stinkers took out the dresser drawer and got to a plug that didn't have plug covers on it, and plugged in the light that goes to the fish tank (our fish died last week and the tank is sitting empty & unplugged on the dresser waiting for new fish), they also plugged in the heater for the tank and laid the heater on the wooden dresser!!  That is what was burning! Luckily there wasn't a fire, I can only imagine how horrible it could've been, between the door knob, and everyone sleeping, a few hours later or if I hadn't smelled the burn.
After I got it taken care of I had Tommy & Nathan sitting down and was trying to explain and make them understand that it isn't ok to touch plugs, that only mommy's or daddy's do that and how scary it can be if there is a fire.  And Tommy says to me, "it's ok if there is a fire mom, you can buy me new toys besides I really really like the firemen, they are real nice and I really like to see their firetruck and it would be so so cool if they came to my house in their firetruck with their lights on!!"

Here is the heater, the top part on the picture where it is brown is the burned part, they burned it right up.
Poor little boys....they are so tired today!  After me tearing in there & through their room like a crazy lady so late last night!  My adrenaline was  certainly going afterwards though, I wasn't able to stop shaking so I cleaned for a few hours to calm down before checking on everyone & everything and then finally going to bed.  And yes, the little boys both slept in bed with me last night :)

Preschool Graduation

Thomas is graduating preschool!! Graduation is May 11th. He will be sending out his invitations in a week or so. Here are the sample graduation pictures I can order. I don't know what they did to get him to smile so great, but I love it!! I can't believe he is starting kindergarten this fall! It seems like just yesterday he was my early, scrawny, nicu baby.
