slacker!

Holy cow!  I am a slacker!!  I was going through pictures tonight and realized that I hadn't blogged David's birthday!
David turned 12 on Saturday June 8.  I can not believe he is 12 already!! He wanted to have a paintball party this year, but at $55/kid and him wanting to invite baseball friends, football friends, and school friends there was no way, so he decided he wanted to go to Disney for the weekend.  So the boys & I headed to Disneyland after the last few hours of school Wednesday.   Nathan is finally 40 inches so he was able to go on Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Star Tours, Soarin' Over California, Radiator Springs, Tower of Terror and all the other fun big kid rides.
(it was Tommy's idea to stand in front of the pink door!)  We were the only ones on Splash Mountain, I love this picture of terrified Thomas and I don't know what to think Nathan!  The picture on the top right is after the big drop.

When we got home we went to dinner at Applebees with grandpa, who came down from Colorado.  I wish I would've gotten a picture, they sang to David and he was SO embarrassed!  Sunday morning David received his Faith in God award at church and was able to be ordained a deacon in the priesthood.  After church we had some family over for some food & visiting.  Sunday evening we did David's birthday,  he had an ice cream cake and got to open his presents.  He got a few hats, money and a cell phone!  He is SO excited about his phone!!  (if you want/need his phone number, let me know!)
On Wednesday the kids got to spend the night at Grandma & Papa's house for the week!  They had a BLAST!  From what I hear there were sleep overs & slumber parties almost nightly with cousins, late night swimming, and lots of fun! So much fun that when we went to pick them up Sunday Thomas started crying because he didn't want to leave Grandma's house!  We had the opportunity to go to Reno that week for the CPOF (correctional peace officers foundation)  annual memorial services for officer's that in the previous year lost their lives, and/or were injured in the line of duty.  There was an officer from High Desert that died last year, his family was not able to go to the services in Reno so we went in their place and were able to accept his plaque, flags, & other items that were given to the family members.  It was such a neat experience and I am so grateful that we were able to go.
(this is Northern Nevada's honor guard)

The last little bit of news...both of Nathan's tubes are out & his ears look great, so we have officially been discharged from our ENT.  Which is great but also sad.  We have seen this doctor (and probably sent him on several vacations & bought him a nice boat!) every three months since David was a baby, about 4 months old for his first set of tubes.  He has done all the boys tubes, tonsils, adenoids and my tonsils.
So after that visit I took Nathan to Thrifty for ice cream :)  He loves ice cream!! (wonder where he got that from?!)
This kid cracks me up!!  He & I were sitting at the table eating our ice creams and he looks up at me, rubs his belly and says "this is delicious!"   That's what he is saying in the video in case you can't understand it.

That is pretty much all that I've missed the last two weeks.   I started my classes, I have 2 A's and 1 B so far, two of those classes end the last week of June, and I have one more class that starts in July before the fall semester starts.  Next week the little boys start their first session of swim lessons, we are going to San Diego to go to Sea World, the beach & Magic Mountain.  Then it's 4th of July, looking forward to the parade and fireworks, and David leaves for scout camp,  and baseball camp.

newest graduate

Today my baby had his first preschool graduation!  I say his first, because he has 2 more years in preschool before he is old enough for kindergarten! He was so cute, when I walked in his classroom for the program he smiled really big, waved and said hi mommy and then gave me a thumbs up.
This last week Nathan has been practicing his songs for graduation all day!  He was singing all the time, in the car, during meals, in the bath!  I was pretty excited to see how he would do or if he would participate in his program today.  He is such a shy little boy!  I was very proud of him though, he did participate!  He didn't do every song and dance/motions, but he did a lot!  It is amazing the progress he has made in the few short months he has been in the program, I am excited to see how far he comes in the next two years.

(make sure to go to the bottom of the page & pause the music so you can hear the video)
the days of the week song is so funny, he clearly doesn't know the words but he sure has the clapping down!

Ms. Charlotte is one of his teachers, she is the one passing out their certificates and talking about each kid. (this one is kinda hard to hear)

Good job Nay-Nay!  I am so proud of you!  You are becoming such a big boy.
I love you!

Thomas

Thomas has had a very busy & fun week!

On Wednesday he had his end of season t-ball party! (so glad that is finally over!)  They had the party at the park and had pizza, cake and got trophys.  He is so excited...it's his first trophy!

On Thursday he graduated from kindergarten!  His class did a presentation and then received their kindergarten graduation certificates.  Thomas also received a certificate for perfect attendance!  Good job T-bone!  Watch out first grade!!
In the pictures is T behind the Z doing his part in the presentation, shaking his teachers hand to receive his certificates, getting & showing off his certificates and then with his teacher.
On Friday he had field day at school!  I was there helping, and since Nathan doesn't have school on Friday he got to come help too!  The kids had a great time!
The pics are, Nathan enjoying a snow cone, T & friends being silly, Thomas doing the hoppy ball race, digging for marbles, and waiting his turn for the relay.

And on Saturday he had his practice birthday party!  What is a practice birthday party?!? It is when your birthday is in the end of July so you aren't able to invite your friends from school because it's the middle of summer and you don't see them so you have a birthday party before school is out!   Thomas has wanted to do a party at Chuck E Cheese for a few years, this year I caved in!  It really wasn't that bad....probably because we got the 10am party slot!  He had a great time and got to have his friends from school come to his birthday.  And it worked out great to do it this way since we will be in Utah at baseball camp for David on his real birthday!  Here are some pictures from his party!

I love the one of him in the ticket blaster giving a thumbs up!  He was SO excited to go in there!  He did manage to get a 1000 ticket & a 100 ticket while he was in there, so he was thrilled!
Such a busy and fun week for Thomas!!
