busy life!

I can't believe that it is the end of October already! This month has flown by!  I took the boys (Thomas & Nathan, David stayed home for baseball) to Disneyland for an early birthday trip for me the weekend of the 12th.  We had so much fun!

David had his first Court of Honor for boy scouts.  He got 5 merit badges, scout, tenderfoot, 2nd class and 1st class.  Great job D!

We had our first out of town tournament with the Coyotes.  The boys played well.  We ended up 1-3 in the standings.  David had several good hits, and great catches.  The game they won, Saturday morning (my birthday), they won 7-0 and David had an awesome diving catch in center field and at the beginning of one of the innings his coach pulled him aside & told him to hit something great for my birthday....he hit a triple that bounced into the outfield fence just feet from being a home run!
After the games Saturday we had a team pizza party & watched the world series game, and the coaches surprised me with a birthday cake and card.  It was such a fun surprise! And what I thought was going to be a cruddy birthday turned out to be a fun night with our new baseball family.

I only had David (obviously) and Nathan with me for the tournament weekend.  Thomas was invited to a friend's birthday/costume party and wanted to stay at Grandma's house so he wouldn't have to miss it.  (that in itself was the best b-day gift ever!)  I love that kid, but sometimes when you remove the middle child there are a lot less problems :)

I am constantly being amazed by Nathan.  He started preschool 6 months ago, in April, with summer vacation he has only been going for 4 months.  He has grown and developed so much.  This is one of his newest tricks....he can spell his name!  He can also spell his best friend's name (Chase).

Monday night I carved pumpkins with the kids.  My parents brought us back pumpkins from Washington earlier this month & they were so much easier than any store bought pumpkins we have ever gotten to carve/clean out!  Nathan wasn't thrilled with the pumpkin guts, but Thomas loved it!

I caught David!  He did not want me taking his picture!
This years pumpkins....Nathan (happy face) Thomas (spooky/scary) and David's (baseball LVC for Las Vegas Coyotes)

Tonight Thomas had karate.  He tested last week to advance in the ranks and he passed his test!  He was awarded with his gold stripe tonight!
 Good job T!!

Now it's time to get ready for baseball practices, trick or treating and a scout camp out to finish off October!

yikes!

I sat down tonight to transfer pictures from my phone to my harddrive and realized that I didn't blog a ton of stuff!  I missed an important event in September and we've had a lot going on end of September/beginning of October already.  So, beware....this is going to be a long post with lots of pictures!

The first weekend of September, one of my very favorite people and best friend, Rebecca got married!  She is living in Fort Wayne Indiana, and I was her bridesmaid, so I flew to Fort Wayne for the weekend.  I had an overnight flight and layover in Chicago and made it to Fort Wayne a few hours before the wedding and unfortunately had to leave Sunday morning to be able to get the kids & myself ready for school and activities on Monday.  It was a super short trip but I am so glad I was able to get out there and share her & Sam's special day.
after the cake.....love you guys!!

Nathan had his first dentist appointment! He did GREAT!  He was so brave and sat in the chair all by himself (Thomas doesn't even do that yet!)

David's baseball team, LV Coyotes, had a double header against the Bullhead City Venom, so instead of getting the boys up at the crack of dawn to get out there for the games, I decided to make it a little vacation in Laughlin!  There was a car show there the weekend we were there so we walked through and checked out the cool cars, then went on the water taxi.  We were the only ones on the water taxi so the driver let the boys try out the drivers seat.  They had a fun night!

David's baseball was pretty lax during the summer, but is now back in full swing.  We are crazy busy with baseball right now, but it is lots of fun and he loves it.  His team had their first tournament as a team this last weekend.  They did pretty good.  David is number 7.

Nathan, my favorite little baseball fan!  Thomas was in Reno this tournament with Keith & it was really nice only having to keep track of one kid at the games!  Nathan is perfectly content to sit in the wagon or in his chair and watch the game or play with toys he brought.
This day we had to be on the other side of town by 7am for the game, which means we had to leave Henderson around 6....Nathan fell asleep!  I love how he is sleeping, his head on the arm of my chair, his leg over the arm of his chair and his toy in his arms.

Also this last weekend RJ was in town doing a book signing and talking about his new book.  It was so much fun to go out to UNLV and see him & his family!

Finally, David had his first cavity!

That is just a highlight of our last few weeks.  Thomas, Nathan and I are looking forward to going to Disneyland this weekend.  David decided he would rather stay home and go to baseball practice on Saturday, so he is going to stay with Keith.  We have another Bullhead City/Lake Havasu double header next weekend so will have another mini vacay in Laughlin, followed by spending Nevada Day weekend (and my birthday) in St. George for another tournament.
