summer fun

We have had such a fun couple weeks!!
We went opening night to Turbo.  Thomas and Nathan LOVED it!!  They both keep asking when we can go see it again and if we can buy it when it come to dvd.

We have had lots of fun picnic dinners at one of the newer, less known splash parks by our house.

Last week we got to go to the lake with Grandma, Papa, Cami and Steve.  The boys had a great time!!  We cooked hotdogs & marshmellows for dinner.  The kids all tubed.  Thomas was scared at first to tube and wanted me to go with him, but he ended up asking me to get out of the tube so he could go by himself!!  Even Nathan went on the tube!  He didn't want to try it alone, so I went with him.  He loved it until we started getting air going over the waves then it scared him.   When Thomas found out that we were going to the lake that morning he got pretty nervous and for the first time in a long time started talking about Papa's boat sinking and is it going to happen today when we go to the lake and about a million other what if questions.  But he decided that he was going to try out Papa's new boat and go to the lake and luckily had a great time & loved it!  This was the first trip to the lake for my little boys since the boat sank 3 years ago.
David tried wakeboarding this trip and thanks to his awesome wakeboarding coach Steve, was able to get up this year!!  Yay David!  He was SO excited!!
He was only able to stay up for a little bit, but he was up!  Now to work on the balance after getting up!  He is really excited to go back to the lake to get the hang of it.
We've also got to go to the pool at Rhodes Ranch with Lidia and the kids.  We met at their house & had pizza lunch and then headed over there.   Thomas absolutely LOVES Emi!
The boys as always had a great time!  It was perfect weather, until the lifeguard saw lightning and closed the pool, but luckily for us it was right about when we were going to leave anyways, so it just made leaving easier!

The boys loved having slide races with Abby!

Off to our next summer adventure!!
Baseball camp for David and a week with Gina, my best friend for me and the little boys!!

Grandpa's 90th Birthday weekend!

Last week my Grandpa turned 90!!  To celebrate we went to California for his birthday party.  We woke up really early on Saturday (I had to have David to Scout Camp by 5am, he was in San Diego at Camp Fiesta Island for the last week!) so after I got back from taking David, I loaded up the car & the little boys and we headed out to California!

I have a friend that lives in Chino Hills that does photography, so we stopped on the way there and had her do Thomas & Nathan's pictures.  They turned out really cute, these are a few of my favorites

Thomas

After their pictures we headed to my aunt & uncle's house for the party!  The boys were thrilled that their cousins were there and that they got to swim and the pool had a slide!
After the party we shopped at IKEA for a little bit and headed to the hotel.  We woke up early Sunday morning and headed to Disneyland!  It was so much fun going to Disney with Grandma & Papa, and cousins!

Papa & Thomas on Mater's Tractors
Steve & Jake and Thomas, me & Nathan on Luigi's Tires
Abby & Thomas watching for the water to come out of the splash pad!
Since we had baby switch passes and fast passes we took turns sitting with Jake & Emi on Radiator Springs.  While Steve, Lidia & Abby were on it I was feeding Emi and Thomas came up and was helping me burp her and told me that he wants one of these (a baby) but a boy! Good luck buddy!
My parents left to come home around lunchtime Sunday, and Steve left a few hours later.  Lidia and I stayed at Disneyland for another day with 5 kids under the age of 5!

On Monday we got up and went to Disneyland again.  We were able to go on a ton of rides!  The kids all had fun and were so well behaved....we didn't lose anyone!

I took all the kids (except Emi) on teacups....they wanted to spin the fastest!  I think we did pretty good!  By the end none of them could hold on to the wheel they were all laughing so hard!
Silly kids on the monorail!  They got to sit in the front with the driver.

4th of July

This year the boys & I spent the night at Grandma & Papa's house on the 3rd so that we wouldn't have to get up so early to get to the Summerlin 4th of July Parade.  Grandma & Papa got VIP seating for the parade (we got to sit under the shade covers with nice big fans & got food/drinks and fun 4th of July hats/necklaces/sunglasses, etc.)

 me & the boys
Abby & Thomas  I think Thomas is showing her the rolly pollys that he found!
Nathan, excited about the fire truck coming his way
Cousins ~ Abby, Thomas, Jake & Nathan on the curb watching the parade
Nathan with his 4th of July hat, sunglasses, necklaces and flag

After the parade we went back to Grandma & Papa's house and swam and ate.  When it started to get dark we went out to do fireworks!
 Nathan

We had a bunch of the snap poppers, the little boys were having a hard time throwing them hard enough to pop on the ground, so we dumped them on the sidewalk and jumped on them instead!  Thomas loved it!
David (under Papa's supervision) was our official firework lighter this year
and of course, you can't forget about the sparklers at the end!

San Diego Weekend

This summer it seems that we are out of town more than we are home!  Our latest vacation was in San Diego at Sea World this past weekend.  The boys had a great time and the weather was perfect! (considering home was 117, anything cooler would be great!)

Some of the shows we saw were the dolphin show, sea otter show and the night time Shamu rocks show. Nathan quickly decided that he loves dolphins, and shamu is to big.  He wants to get a dolphin to go in his fish tank!
The kids got to feed the flamingos.  Thomas and David both got them to take the food right out of their hand (instead of throwing it in the water like you were supposed to do).  Nathan liked to throw the food in the water and watch the ducks fight for food.  They also loved feeding fish to the sea lions.  This year we only lost one fish to the birds!

My buddy & me

Nathan liked to feel and see the sea stars!  He got to spend extra time feeling them while the bigger kids went on some rides he wasn't quite tall enough for, even with spiked hair.

We went on Journey to Atlantis, last year Thomas screamed and cried through the entire ride, this year he loved it!  What a difference a year makes!  Nathan wasn't tall enough for this one, so we spent all my quarters shooting water at people on the ride!
Even though he wasn't tall enough to ride, Nathan still had fun and got to get soaked too!  He stood at the bottom of this hill and got splashed by the boats coming down.
We had such a fun time and can't wait to go back next year!

lost!

Thomas lost his first tooth!  Thursday after swim lessons he told me that he couldn't eat lunch because his tooth was to wiggly.  I tried pulling it out but it wasn't quite ready.  He spent the rest of the day wiggling it.  Finally right before bed time, he pulled it out himself!!  He was SO excited!!

Thomas is my hoarder, or as he likes to say, he collects things.  He does not like to throw anything away!  So, after he pulled out his tooth we were talking about the tooth fairy and how it works and he started to cry.  I asked him what was wrong & he said he didn't want to leave his tooth, he wanted to keep it!  So he wrote a note to the tooth fairy asking if he could keep his tooth, and left the note and tooth under his pillow.
When he woke up in the baggie with his tooth was $5 & the tooth fairy wrote a note back to him.  He was thrilled!!
Don't worry though....we don't have a tooth laying around anymore!  The tooth "magically" turned into a dollar coin....I guess that is just what happens when the head tooth fairy finds out that money got left and the tooth fairy didn't bring the tooth back!!
